VINYASA KRAMA YOGA, sequences and subroutines.

This is an ongoing project, my plan being to constantly update the videos presented here with newer, more accurate and hopefully more accomplished presentations of the Sequences and subroutines in Srivatsa Ramaswami's book, as well as adding notes to the individual postures and sequences.

NOTE

This blog has only just gone LIVE and may be suffering teething problems as I attempt to upload the 120 odd videos of sequences and subroutines over the next couple of weeks. Please let me know if you notice any videos that have been attached to the wrong post or anything else that is clearly unintended.
Most of the videos posted right now are early attempts at the sequences and subroutines and wont correspond exactly to the instructions in Ramaswami's book. I'll try to point those cases out in the post and eventually get around to re-filming the clips.

This is a most precious gift! I've had the good fortune to attend a few of Ramaswami's classes and always yearned for more. I have the book, but not as good as experiencing your fine presentation. Many, many Thanks!

Thank you Sharon, your most kind and very welcome. Lots of mistakes in many of the videos I'm afraid but hopefully I can reshoot the worst ones over time to bring them more in line with the book.

Thanks! Just gave this a go. So wonderful to have you leading me, rather than me looking up and down to a book. I can't wait to try more.

Your welcome Anon, i wonder though about the the other sequence videos, many of them are the full sequence speeded up and so not really suitable for practicing along with. perhaps I should do ten or fifteen minute shortened versions of the other sequences.

Hi Grimmly,
thank you so much for your very helpful videos.
You are making us discover Vinyasa Krama Yoga and I am so thankful to you for that. Black and White images is just great!!! It's like watching a movie, somehow. Down with all those videos with cheesy music and soft lights and colours! Your setting is much more inspiring! I'll definitely buy the book and use your blog as my guide through it, as I live in Rome, Italy and, as far as I know, there's no VK teacher here.

Thank you Anon. I don't know about Rome but there's my friend Gabriele he's no.36 on Ramaswami's teacher/graduate list which you can find here http://vinyasakrama.com/Teachers
He's in Milan though, but if your ever there you should try and get a lesson or two perhaps. Really nice guy.

Dear Grimmly,
I cannot express my big thanks to you, after finding this great video site of Vinyasa Krama Yoga. In the middle of my Vinyasa Yoga teacher training, the book of S. Ramaswami is one of the must read books. Being a rather visual learning person, so happy to find your valuable site! If you put these videos together in DVD, will certainly buy it. Dont worry about the scene settings and B&W, the contents matter the most! Grear job! Please keep on doing it. You are practicing Karma Yoga by helping others learn VK Yoga in a good way! SAT NAM. Thank you Terance for your kind words. No plans to turn the video's into a DVD at the moment but if you have Realplayer Downloader you can capture the videos from YouTube and watch them whenever you like ( I hear ramaswami might be releasing some of his early videos soon).

Youtube has just started to let me upload longer video's, I can upload the complete sequences without having to speed them up, have done a couple so far, you can find them on my YouTube channel. I'm also thinking about adding voice overs
I'm also working on the 3rd edition of My Vinyasa Krama practice book which will have practice notes to all the subroutines there is a link to the 2nd edition in the top right corner of this blog but the new edition should be ready in a couple of days. Here's a link to the VK blog with all the practice notes

Thank again and happy New year.

Dear Grimmly,

Thank you so much for this. I practice ashtanga yoga and have have this book in my collection of yoga books. I like very much like Vinyasa Krama unfortunately we don't have any teachers here in Montreal, that I know of? so I follow this wonderful book by guru ramaswami. What you've done here is a wonderful gift and your blessed for it. I'm sure your karma has gone up quite a few notches for this! :)

Thank you very much for such a wonderful gift. Please share the updated links for the videos.

Sorry Harish. It seems YouTube change all Unlisted videos ( but available via a link) to Private. I have a little time this week so will try to change them all back again. Anthony.
